Zocalo

The first thing we did upon arrival was sit down in the zocalo and get some cervazas. Mr. K shared some sketches and right above is the view from our hotel the first night into the zocalo.

Our Hotels

The first night we decided to stay in town at Hotel Antonio. I really liked it, the interior of the hotel was like a huge cavernous cave with many rooms and hidden little floors. The showers were a little cold and the circular fans didn't like staying in their bolts and wobbled with threatening decapatating movements, but it was very comfortable and was reasonable at 15$ a person.

The last pic is Mr.K's place where we hung out for a siesta one day after checking out the markets. Twas very nice as well.

Concert in Zocalo

After John and I followed an anti-american rally into the zocalo, we fell upon this concert. Was quite beautiful.

Margaritas

We met up with Kristin and Tom later that night for margaritas in the zocalo again. Then off to dinner with everyone in town so far, JoAnne, Jack, Rob, me, Jeff, Kristin, Tom, Mr. K, Judy and her husband, Selma and Linda. Someone partaked in the standard Oaxacan cuisine of champulines (grasshoppers). Have to say that the chocolate here is indeed the best in the world- moles, hot chocolate, by itself.
